My first cut-out painting. 1/4" MDF. Acrylic paint and Sharpie Markers. Used an overhead projector to enlarge my original sketches and transfer the designs to a quarter sheet of MDF. Used a jigsaw to cutout the rough shapes. Then a table-mounted router and straight bit to refine the cut (not recommended without using extreme care, very unsafe) and finally sandpaper and a lot of elbow grease to shape it to the final dimension. Once complete I hand-painted the masks with arclyic paint and 6 round brush and then touched up the black lines with a oil based Sharpie paint marker. Sealed them all with a few coats of spray lacquer sanding smooth between coats.
These were a blast to make. Made a bunch of other cutouts that are still in progress.
They measure between 21-24' long and 6-8" wide
Thanks for looking.
